Q1. Are the customer’s goods insured by Kirayago?

No, the goods transported through Kirayago are not insured by default. Customers are strongly advised to arrange appropriate transit insurance for their goods before shipment.

Q2. Can a customer purchase insurance through Kirayago app/website?

Currently, Kirayago does not provide insurance services or facilitate insurance purchases on its platform. Customers should directly obtain insurance from their preferred insurance provider.

Q3. What is the process in case of damage, loss, or theft of goods?

In case of any damage, loss, or theft:

  • If the customer has insurance, they should immediately inform their insurer and initiate a claim as per insurer guidelines.
  • The customer may also inform Kirayago for record purposes.

Kirayago may assist, where reasonably possible, by providing:

  • Trip details
  • Driver information
  • Certificate of Facts (if required for insurance claim)

However, Kirayago does not guarantee claim settlement, as it depends entirely on the insurer’s terms.

Q4. What is Kirayago’s liability in case of damage or theft?

KIRAYAGO does not take any liability for the goods being shipped unless it is established with conclusive evidence. However, in rare cases where it is conclusively proven with valid evidence that damage or theft occurred due to gross negligence or reckless driving by the driver, the liability of transporter’s (if any) shall be limited as per applicable law to the lower of:

  1. The actual value of the goods damaged; OR
  2. Ten (10) times the freight amount paid or payable

Kirayago does not charge any risk premium, and pricing is based purely on distance, time, and vehicle utilization, without considering the value or risk of goods. All shipments are accepted on a “said to contain” basis.

Q5. Are there any precautions customers should take?

Yes, customers are strongly advised to:

  • Take transit insurance, especially for high-value goods
  • Avoid transporting fragile, hazardous, or perishable items without proper packaging
  • Ensure correct declaration of goods
  • Supervise loading/unloading where possible
